In our final days in Siem Reap, Cambodia we had a handful of things we still wanted to see with the kids. The floating village, Banteay Srei and, of course, sunrise at Angkor Wat.

Sunrise at Angkor Wat with kids was a surprisingly good time even if getting up at 4:45 am stinks. You won’t be there alone, but if the weather agrees with you, the sunrise can truly be spectacular.

Floating village in Cambodia sounds like fun with the kids, but the high prices and the constant requests for tips, even after paying extraordinary prices, for Cambodia, left a bad taste in our mouth. The drone shots really made it look nicer than it is. This was our worst experience in Siem Reap.

Banteay Srei is always a nice temple to see. It is a bit of a haul outside the regular temples, but you need to take the time to stop at the palm sugar stands on the way back to see how they make it and to try some of the little candies they make. Yum!

We filled up our final day driving by the lotus farms to go to a temple that our Tuk Tuk driver thought we would really enjoy. Well, the temple wasn’t great, but we had a really great time buying lollipops from the local candy man for all the kids in a local village. It started with roughly 25 kids and somehow became well over 100.

Moving to Luang Prabang, Laos, next.
